New Features
Modelling
- Removed warning when user tries
to use millimeter as database unit, since "m"
always to be used as length unit within ACIS. This makes it possible to
use “mm” as database units. (IM3802)
- Added support for dividing a
polycurve into two new polycurves with a knuckle point and support for
specifying end tangents for a polycurve (IM4696)
- Added GUI application
of hydrostatic pressure in the general pressure function dialog, by option
to limit the pressure function to positive values. (IM3558)
- Meshing
rules - added 2 settings missing from GUI. (IM4824 )
Graphics
- Added isplay of reaction forces – numeric
labelling (IM574)
- Changed efault color on Beams and FEM beams
elements changed so that they are more easy to see relative to Plates and
FEM shell elements
(IM4871).
- Preview copy/move is now the
default option in graphics settings (IM4865).
Analysis
- Wrong results will no longer be shown
when 2 or more analyses. If the analysis has been executed, the results
from the active analysis will now be shown when setting it as active.

- Switching Active Analysis to the
corresponding Capacity Manager when issuing Set Active, Generate Code
check loads and Execute code check from the browser. (IM4876)
Reporting
- Added finite element

Bug Fixes
Modelling / Graphics
- Corrected problem model becomes
extremely slow when snap plane is turned on. (IM4681)
- Corrected crash when making a
multiple selection, and trying to modify line loads (with beam or line
footprints) from the "Properties" dialog (IM4744).
- Fixed several issues with definition
of fillet curves (IM4670)
- Fixed display of guide curves. Snap
points display was flipped. Some flipped curves were not displayed at all
(IM4671).
- Corrected problem that when modelling
soil layers, the seabed Z value must be applied first (IM4701).
- Corrected
problem that it was not possible to change a wet surface selection to
<none>. (IM4813)
- Copy
operation of flat plate fails when compartments involved. (IM4802)
- Divide a
closed curve does not work. (IM4799)
- Genie crashes
when interacting with collapsed guiding geometry (e.g. guide curves with
no length). (IM4790)
- Snap points
does not match the mouse cursor. Mouse point does not select the closest
point on the curve

crashes when color-coding the section and double clicking a beam. (IM4758)

- Severe performance problems with
automatic structure verification. (IM4801).
- Insert guide line dialog and Insert
guide line leads to different number of snap points (IM4833 )
- Display error: pyramid shaped water
(IM4834)
- When no growth rate defined for
global mesh density, a value is still read from the model and set on the
model. Also, there is no test on
whether growth rate is less than 1.0 (IM4822).
- Model disappears when zooming if
lights are turned off. It turns out that this only happens if attribute
locking of the visibility of light is in place. (IM4788).
- Error in summation of presure
functions when more that 2 functions superimposed. (IM4825)
- Crash after dividing a beam then
selecting another point. Curves not automatically removed from set when
deleting curve. (IM4768).
- Bm1.setBeamOffsetLocal seems to have
no effect on mesh (IM4844 ).
- Fixed issue with fillet curve
where an input curve is a spline (IM4858).
- Corrected severe performance
problems when joining plates. (IM4801).
- Joints are at occasions becoming
invisible in the graphics (IM4872).
- Section properties change for segments
of beam after divide operation (IM4882).
- "Labels -> Load
Intensities" not working for point load (IM4881).
- Regression: Closed fillet curve does
not work (IM4895).
Meshing / Analysis
- Corrected problem with 'Scaling
of Mass' does not work for 'Shear Material' (IM4827)
- Corrected problem where all point
loads were not transferred to mesh (Gamesha) when unused nodes were
automatically removed during meshing (IM4847).
- Set space sorting tolerance
from the Genie to 1.0e-4m, so that sorting in Gamesha becomes independent
of database units (IM4105).
- Added check of float (single
precision) numeric range on numbers written to FEM file, an error is
produced if numbers written is > 1.e+38 (IM4830).
- Increased maximum number of pile
diameters for soil curve generation to 15, to be consistent with
limitation in Splice (IM4747).
Plate capacity checks
- Corrected naming (indexing) of
capacity panels for CSR Bulk , that was not
consistent. (IM4750)
- Corrected problem where reducing
panel size increased linearised stresses for CSR Bulk. (IM4749)
Frame capacity checks
- Flooded not accounted for in NORSOK
N-004. (IM4708)
- Calculation of torsion ufH3 for box
sections for API WSD. (IM4669)
Reporting.
- Load combination query in browser should
display phase shift in degrees (not radians) . (IM4748)
Export/import
- Optional xml attributes were not
implemented correctly. They could have gotten random values if the
attribute was not present in the xml. (IM4657)
- Wrong magnitude
of point loads transfer between Sacs and Genie (IM4778)
- Conversion of section names while
model importing from Sacs to Genie (IM4780).
- Clean JS with T profile
represented as Unsym I section would not be read back into Genie, but
doing a more tolerant check on section dimensions removes the problem with
numerical inaccurcies on the FEM file and clean JS (IM4870
).
- The unit for Mesh density not be recorded in XML file, corrected so that the mesh
density now will be properly converted when importing to a workspace with
different database units than the one where the XML file was created
(IM4772).
- Error in import of rule loads xml
(support curves - rigid link plane) (IM4868)
- Edit of PolyCurves did not display
the actual edited curve correctly. Only the first segment was displayed.
- Weight report item names are cleaned to
make legal JS names when imported from CSV or XML files.

Import SIN
- Possibility for reading external SIN
file from an analysis where a superelement created in GeniE is part of a
larger analysis (IM3730). This is the first implementation step for
importing superelement results, the limitations are documented in User
Manual vol III.

Bug Fixes
Modelling
- Corrected problem during a call to
HealStructure, where very short beams can in some cases be eliminated due
to the fact that they collapse into a point. (IM4239)
- A message is now given if user tries
to create/modify lineload (or 'Beam' load) with conciding endpoints,
resulting in a zero extent footprint. (IM4430)
- Divide of plate using plane took
extremely long time, >30 min. This has now been improved significantly.

- Corrected problem with Apply button
in Mesh Property dialog being disabled without specifying growth rate.

- Corrected crash in joint modelling
functionality that occured sometimes when calling autoCan repeatedly on a
joint. ( IM4257 )
- Corrected problem with Model containing wires (i.e.
beams not fully connected to plates ) becomes invalid when creating
compartments. ( IM4216 )
- Corrected JS interpreter declaration
scope when calling member functions and constructors of a custom
javascript class. ( IM4222 )
- Classification of ACIS curves as straight
is reimplemented as it classified certain spline curves as being straight.

Loads
- When a plate is divided, split or
exploded, it now notifies relevant compartments and updates the local
compartment load to be copied to all new plates.
- The following line: 10m*sin(30); caused crash. This is because “sin” was
interpreted as the unit s*in (IM4341)
- Corrected error in Javascript line
load descriptions using units, these were incorrectly translated to a
vector of ForcePerArea in stead of a vector of ForcePerLength (IM4338)
- Corrected problem where loads were
not properly copied when doing a mirror. ( IM4267 )
Meshing/analysis
- Crash during meshing for huge CSR
Bulk model with many loadcases - corrected so that each loadcase is now
written to FEM after mesh generation, resulting in improved memory
efficiency. (IM4258)
- Warp correction ( - added user option
from GUI on Linear Sestra Run dialog - added user option from JS - changed
default to enabled ). (IM4304)
- ORDER=3 in SOLM card on Sestra.inp
may cause problems
( - no user option from JS yet - changed default to ORDER=0
) (IM4292) . This option refers to equation solving, see Sestra user
documentation for more details.
- Corrected failure to create legal
superelemet analysis if first level superelement number is different from
1. Note that when doing pile-soil analysis the number still must be 1 dur
to limitation in Splice ( IM4258 )
Capacity checks
- Color code for code checks is now
updated when switching context (loadcase and/or run) (IM4390)
- When creating members, sets with 0
beams were automatically selected as subset when no members existed.

- Corrected error where capacity
manager (Eurocode3 EN 1993-1-1 2005) does not show worst case the geometry
checks for both tension and compression are always performed, independent of current loadcase. This
ensures that worst usage factor AND geometry check failure always is
shown. (IM4375)
- Corrected problem where Inherit of
codecheck run settings for joint capacity models did not work ( IM4233 )
Result presentation
- Corrected erroneous removal of
graphing points in Beam Force/Stress Diagram dialog. (IM4248)
Graphics
- Support index colour for hinges

cylinders to indicate the direction of rotation
XML Export/import
- Added warning if mass unit specified
is inconsistent with length and force units on XML file imported (IM4424)
- Support for ignoring errors related
to invalid references on the xml file. (IM4218)
- Xml import has unexpected failure for
plates which overlap exsisting plates. (IM4393)
- Corrected problem where Mesh options
were changed during XML export/import

- Corrected problem where Feature edges
imported using XML import are not registered properly, so that deleting an
imported feature edge caused the program to crash. ( IM4155 )
- Created a scheme for postponing
modelling operations until after the model has been completely read into
GeniE. This is necessary as it is impossible to resolve the sense of a
plate until the geometry of the plate has been imported, and the geometry
is by default imported later than the actual plate (embedded
geometry). ( IM4145 )
- Load factors on load combination in XML
import corrected.
Import FEM
- Correction to allow import of FEM
node loads with only 3 degrees of freedom (BNLOAD, NDOF=3) (IM4339)
- Correction so that splitting warped
plates into 2 triangles gives 2 new named plates.
Reporting
- Removed unexpected jump to next input
field in Report dialog. The report
title is no longer updated when typing text in the name field. (IM4262)
- Corrected so that repeated values in
first column may be shown with ... in HTML and Word XML reports, to
improve readability.
